Skin Needling
Skin Needling
Skin needling, also known as microneedling, is a minimally invasive procedure that utilises the SkinPen device to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These tiny punctures stimulate the body’s natural healing process, leading to increased collagen and elastin production, which enhances skin texture, tone, and firmness.
The SkinPen microneedling treatment offers numerous benefits, including improved skin texture and smoothness, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, diminished appearance of acne scars, enhanced skin elasticity and firmness, reduced pore size, and a more even skin tone with decreased hyperpigmentation.
The procedure involves using a motorised device equipped with fine needles that penetrate the skin’s surface at various depths. This stimulates the skin’s natural repair mechanisms without causing significant damage. Typically, the treatment begins with a cleansing phase, followed by the application of a topical numbing agent, and then the microneedling process itself. A hydrating serum is often applied post-procedure to soothe the skin.
Skin needling is suitable for all skin types and can be tailored to address specific concerns. It is particularly effective for individuals looking to enhance skin texture, reduce the appearance of scars, or mitigate signs of ageing.
Clients may experience mild redness, swelling, or sensitivity for a few days following the treatment. These effects are usually short-lived and resolve within a few days. There is generally no significant downtime, allowing clients to return to their daily activities with minimal disruption.
Each SkinPen session typically lasts around 30-60 minutes, depending on the treatment area. For optimal results, a series of treatments is generally recommended, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The number of sessions required will depend on individual skin conditions and desired outcomes. We offer complimentary consultations to guide clients on the number of treatments required, tailored to their specific concerns.
