Chemical peels utilise a blend of naturally derived acids and enzymes to address various skin concerns, with different peels tailored to meet individual needs. The treatment involves a combination of enzymes, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), and Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), which can be light, medium, or deep in strength, depending on the skin issues being targeted. Enzymes, such as those from pumpkin and papaya, break down the bonds between dead skin cells, gently removing the top layer to reveal fresh skin underneath. Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), including Glycolic and Lactic acids, exfoliate the surface layer of the skin. Glycolic acid is known for its refreshing and tightening effects, while Lactic acid provides hydration and a radiant glow.
Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), such as Salicylic acid, penetrate deeper into the pores to cleanse them of impurities and excess oil. Salicylic acid also has anti-inflammatory properties, making it particularly effective for treating cystic acne.
Chemical peels can be applied to the face, neck, décolletage, and hands, targeting concerns such as wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, age spots, hyperpigmentation, acne or acne scarring, and textural or tone issues.
