Chemical Peel

Chemical peels use naturally derived acids or chemicals, along with different ingredients for different concerns. The peels can be light, medium and deep treatment strengths, which exfoliate the top layer of skin to the depth that’s best for the skin irregularities you’re trying to correct. In simple terms everyone can have a peel as a peel can be ramped up or down to suit your skin type and needs. Peels can be used on the face, neck, décolletage and hands; for wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, age spots, hyperpigmentation, acne or acne scarring, and textural or tone concerns.
By removing dull or dead skin cells and other debris, your skin responds to the acids with a healing response, designed to flake away the damage, revealing new, youthful and supple skin underneath.
A chemical peel treatment with Nude Aesthetics will involve an in-depth discussion prior to your treatment starting. This will discuss which peel is best suitable for you and your skin type, along with a plan for your skin concerns. It is important that we get an understanding of your skin ourselves, as our products are highly concentrated.
Typical downtime from your chemical peel will be depending on the depth of your peel. For light to medium peels, you may experience flaking and peeling of the skin for 4-7 days post your procedure. Some minor redness, flushing or tenderness is noted for 24-48 hours. For a deeper peel, you can expect to be recovering for up to 2 weeks. This will involve significant peeling, as well as some swelling, stinging and redness lasting longer. Ice packs and simple analgesia can be effective in relieving these discomforts.
Results are generally noticed around 7-14 days as you see the formation of healthy, new skin. Aftercare involves keeping cool (no sweating), taking skincare back to basics, withholding use of exfoliators, no peeling, picking or prodding, resist using retinols until skin is healed, ensure your using a soap-free cleanser and keep your skin hydrated with regular moisturiser. To maintain your improvement for as long as possible, you should protect your new skin from exposure to the sun and ultraviolet light by wearing a minimum SPF30+ daily. Listen to your chemical peel provider for aftercare instructions as they can vary depending the depth of your peel.
